Peer Mentor, Elizabeth Ortiz

I am from Agua Dulce, California. I graduated from California State University Northridge with my bachelor’s degree in Sociology: Social Welfare emphasis with a minor in Psychology. I was a Domestic Abuse Response Team Advocate working out of L.A.P.D. Van Nuys division giving crisis intervention to victims of domestic abuse. I have done many internships and a lot of volunteer work working with children, at risk youth, and pregnant teens.  I am currently an MSW student at California State University Northridge and a research assistant for a professor at CSUN. Social work is my passion and I plan to obtain my LCSW in the future.
