Ed was raised in Whittier, CA, and is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton, having earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and Film. Ed lives in Santa Clarita with his wife, Valerie and his son, Gage , 13, and his daughter Elizabeth, 9.
Ed is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon national fraternity, having served two years as President of the Cal State Fullerton chapter. Upon graduation, Ed went to work as a VIP Tour Guide for Universal Studios and also served as a member of an advisory panel for the 1984 Olympic Games, providing operational insight regarding security precautions & preparations for the studio and visiting dignitaries.
Accepting an opportunity with Universal Television, Ed spent 12 years as a Production Coordinator on network television shows such as “Simon & Simon” and “Quantum Leap”, and also wrote the first ever “how to” manual for the television production department, regarding procedures for Production Coordinators within the Universal Studios system.
Following his Coordinator career, Ed and a partner penned a variety of original screenplays for different production companies resulting in two films actually being produced…a Charlie Sheen picture entitled, “No Code of Conduct” and a Dolph Lundgren film called, “Storm Catcher”…so much for the writing career.
Ed was the 2005 Chairman of the Board for the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, leading the first ever Chamber of Commerce delegation to Washington D.C., to lobby on behalf of community projects. Ed is a recipient of the SCV Chamber’s “President’s Award”, given for “The highest level of support to the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce membership and to the community.” Ed served as the Field Representative for Assemblyman Cameron Smyth from December of 2006 through April of 2010. On May 3, 2010, Ed became the President / CEO of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce. Ed has been on the Youth Project board since 2007.
